A day in Bruxelles

We spent all day Saturday walking around Brussels. We hadn't really seen any of the sights since we got here, so it was a lot of fun, and cold! This is us at the Grote Market. It is just a central place full of shops, restaurants and really cool buildings. We bought a little bag of chocolates at a place called Chocopolis. So yummy.

Apparently this is the most famous thing to see in Brussels. It is called "Mannekin Pis" and it is exactly what it looks and sounds like: a statue of a little boy peeing with water coming out to form a fountain. It is so funny and random. The best part was the 75 people that were surrounding it. I don't know how or why it is so famous, but it is and we saw it! There are even mini statues of the little boy that you can buy and take home with you! Awesome.

We bought some waffles from a street van and they were delicious. Hot, buttery and they don't even taste like real waffles. It was everything I hoped for and more. Downtown we saw more waffles with any topping imaginable: ice cream, fruit, whip cream, caramel, chocolate, etc. You can even buy little mini waffles at the grocery store here. They sell them in packages like cookies.

This was a really beautiful church we saw. We went inside and the detail and architecture was amazing.

Two old men at the Grote Market showing a lot of attention to a single pigeon. It was so funny and I'm so glad we caught it on camera.

Holy Schmoly... I think I'd gain 150 lbs if I lived there for a few months! Everything looks SOOO yummy! You look so cute Mal... Glad to see you guys having some fun. :)

Oh... And will you please bring me home a peeing statue? I'd put it in my bathroom and think of you every time me and the potty were reacquainted. :)
