Je t'aime Paris

We spent Saturday and Sunday in Paris. It was awesome and so pretty. We almost froze to death, but had a great time. We saw the Basilica, Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral and went to the Louvre. We ate a lot of bread and croissants and saw the Mona Lisa.

This is Brett at the Basilica trying to fold a map we got.

Me at the Basilica. It was amazing inside and out. There was a harp player on the steps. I loved it.

Us at the Arc de Triomphe. It was really cool because all the major roads in Paris lead here. We didn't walk up it, but just took a look around. There is also a memorial for an unknown soldier from WWII buried underneath the Arc. It was really beautiful.

Jumping in front of the Arc.

I was quite proud of this picture. We were just walking up to the Eiffel Tower and it looked really pretty between the trees with the sky and sunshine.

This is me eating a crepe on our way to the Eiffel Tower. We did receive some looks and hostile French comments for this picture.

Us at the Eiffel Tower! It was freezing but really neat.

We stood in line for about a half hour to ride to the top. It was sooooo cold, but we made it and this is the view from the top.

On Saturday night before we went back to the hotel, we took a walk around Notre Dame. It was absolutely beautiful. The highlight of our trip to Paris.

Sunday morning, we went to Notre Dame Mass. Afterward, we found the Paris LDS ward and went to church there.

From inside Notre Dame. The windows and detail were amazing. It was built in 1160 and it was such a cool experience actually seeing something from that long ago.

After church, we went to the Louvre. We had no idea it was so huge. We did see the Mona Lisa and a lot of other cool artifacts: Rembrandts, Vermeer, Michelangelo. By the end of it we were so tired, and our train didn't leave for hours, so we walked around a bit more and ended up paying a lot of money just for drinks (one 12 oz. Coke and a hot chocolate). It was a great trip and we'll never forget it. We decided that we would definitely love to go back to Paris, especially in the spring or summer :).
